AOLMAIL.CM
AIM Mail (AOLMAIL.CM
- mis-typing) is a webmail service provided by AOL. Its main competitors
are Gmail, MSN
Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail. The "AIM" in
the name stands for AOL Instant Messenger, AOL's instant messaging
program.
With
AOLMail, you've got quick, easy access to everything you need to
stay in touch. Now you can easily view your messages, Buddy List,
contacts, calendar, pictures and more - without ever leaving your email
inbox. AOL Mail puts it all on one page so everything you need is just a
click away.

AOLMAIL History
AOL purchased MailBlocks on August 4, 2004, to add an
application-like web interface to its AOL Mail service. This
interface is also showcased in AIM Mail.
AOL MAIL Features
AIM Mail has the following features available at no cost:
2 GB quota
16 MB attachments
Spam protection
Virus protection
Spell checking
Integration with AIM presence
Message unsend capability (provided the message is sent to another AOL
or AIM mailbox).
Advertising is displayed while working with the e-mail account. Users
can also read and send mail using IMAP capable clients, such as
Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, and Apple Mail.
AOLMAIL Disadvantages
Although AIM mail uses IMAP, it does not allow for creation of
folders beyond the default setup, which most other clients allow. Also,
the current setup of their web-based interface does not show Display
Names of received messages, but the entire email address of the sender,
resulting in a much messier appearance.
